Robert Capa claimed that “if your picture isn’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” He redefined wartime photography by photographing from the trenches themselves as opposed to taking pictures from a safe distance. He is credited for coining the term “Generation X” after writing a photo essay about young men and women growing up after World War II.
