Gregory Crewdson is best known for his well thought out and elaborately staged photographs of families and neighborhoods. He usually uses a large crew to organize his photographs, and claims that his artistic style has been influenced by Diane Arbus, who focused a lot on commercial photography. This might explain his elaborate compositions. His pictures usually focus on the characteristics of small town America, but are well laid out. He is now a professor at Yale University.
