Though Cindy Sherman may be among the most famous self-photographers of our time, she doesn’t look at her work as being self-portraits. In her series of portraits, she manipulates herself to look like whoever she needs to be in order to get her point across. She loses her own identity, and through the lens becomes another person in order to express her theme. Many of her works draw attention to the stereotyping of women through social media.
